AI Agent Engineer
Build the agents that run real workflows for partners and ventures: support, sales, operations, and internal tools. You will own tool design, orchestration, evals, and the cost of every run.
What you will do
The work in the first six months, in the order it usually shows up.
- Design agents with scoped tools, budgets, and clear failure modes
- Build and maintain evals so every change is measured before deploy
- Integrate agents with the systems partners already use
- Trace and cut cost and latency across the fleet
- Extend the agent library with templates other engineers can deploy in days
- Write the playbooks that explain how each agent works and when it should not be used
What we look for
Skills that matter on day one. Titles do not.
- Three or more years of backend or platform engineering in TypeScript or Python
- Hands-on experience shipping LLM-based systems to production users
- A working understanding of evaluation, prompt versioning, and tool-calling patterns
- Comfort with queues, webhooks, and long-running jobs
- Ability to explain a system's behavior to a non-technical partner
Nice to have
Helpful, not required.
- Experience with customer support or sales tooling
- Contributions to open-source agent or eval projects
- Background in data engineering
