Vinyatan: the studio behind our ventures
Vinyatan is the line of Entatan that starts companies. Here is how we pick ideas, how we build them, and why we own a stake instead of billing for the work.
Entatan has two lines. Envinyatan is the work we do with partners. Vinyatan is the work we do for ourselves: new companies we conceive, build, launch, and own. Today we are describing how Vinyatan works, because the first ventures are in production and people have started asking.
Why a services company starts companies
The honest answer is that we could not help it. A team that ships products for other people every two weeks accumulates ideas that nobody has hired us to build. Some of those ideas are good. A studio gives them somewhere to go.
The strategic answer is that ventures keep the team sharp. Partner work teaches us how to ship inside someone else's constraints. Venture work teaches us what it costs to be wrong about a market with our own money. Each makes the other better, and partners get the benefit of a team that has had to find its own customers.
How we pick
We look for a narrow set of properties. A venture has to be something we can build to a first paying customer with the team we have, in a quarter or less. It has to sit in a market where being fast and technical is a real edge. And it has to be something we want to run for years, because we will be.
- A specific customer with a specific, recurring pain and an existing budget for it.
- A product we can ship in one or two sprints and improve weekly after that.
- A business model that works at small scale, not only after a fundraise.
- A distribution channel we already understand or can build with our own tools.
We say no to most ideas, including our own. The list of things we did not build is longer than the list of things we did, and it is the more useful list.
How we build
A Vinyatan venture runs through The Forge exactly like partner work. Same sprints, same agents, same review. The difference is who sits on the other side of the table. For a venture, it is us, and we hold ourselves to the same definition of done we would give a partner.
Ventures also get the whole team. The engineer who writes the billing integration is in the room when we decide the pricing page. The person who runs the ads has read the code. That is the argument we make to partners about why one team beats three vendors, and Vinyatan is where we prove it to ourselves first.
The first ventures
Two are in production today. Each will get its own post here, but in short:
- 48 States, One Cyberbeast. A campaign site and live broadcast system for an independent owner attempt at Tesla's 2026 Free Supercharging Competition.
- Cyberstudio. A purpose-built broadcast studio for X Live, written as a native desktop app.
They look unrelated. They are not. Each one came out of a problem we hit ourselves, each shipped in a matter of weeks, and each runs on the same stack and the same operating cadence as the rest of Entatan.
Ownership, not invoices
Vinyatan ventures are companies Entatan owns a stake in, not clients we bill. Where we work with a founder or operator, the structure is equity, revenue share, or both. We are writing the pricing page to be explicit about this, because we would rather have the conversation early.
Pitch a venture
If you are a founder or operator with an idea that fits the list above, we want to hear it. The Vinyatan pitch form at /start/vinyatan takes about ten minutes.
We will keep this journal updated as the ventures grow. Venture posts follow over the coming weeks, starting with the Cyberbeast campaign.
